Memorial Park has one hole - the 18th - with more than two bunkers, and six (!) with zero bunkers. On a relatively mild site, no less.
Refreshingly economical and a reminder of how soundly contour can beat sand as a main driver of interest on a course.

Tee areas flowing straight into fairway is an interesting recent golf design/setup trend. US Women’s Am host Southern Hills is a prime example of it. Not sure how I feel about it. Contrast to, say, Oakmont.

I counted 11 total road crossings at Princess Anne C.C. (1916) in Virginia Beach, Va. Really cool how it weaves through the neighborhood; some great Google Streetviews. I can't imagine it could be built so intimately today. #GoogleMapsGolf
