Google is taking a stand against crafty scammers exploiting Bard AI's buzz. In a bold move, Google has filed a lawsuit in California against individuals believed to be from Vietnam, who've been setting up sneaky social media pages and running ads. Their goal? To trick users into "downloading" Bard AI, but what they get instead is a nasty dose of malware. 🕵️‍♂️📲 These scammers are not just any con artists; they're using Google's own trademarks, including Google AI and Bard, to bait unsuspecting victims. Their method? Promoted Facebook posts aimed at distributing malware that swipes social media credentials. Talk about a digital wolf in sheep's clothing! 🐺📉 Google's not just playing defense; they're on the offensive. With around 300 takedown requests already submitted, they're determined to stop these scammers from setting up future malicious domains and disable them with US domain registrars. It's a digital duel of wits and wills. ⚔️🔐 This situation is a stark reminder of how emerging technologies, like generative AI, can be weaponized against the less informed. The scammers imply Bard is a paid service needing download, while it's actually free at https://t.co/cPDipjvigv. Classic bait and switch! 🎣💻 Google's legal action is more than just a lawsuit; it's a statement. They're fighting to establish legal precedent, disrupt scammer tools, and raise the stakes for bad actors. It's a cyber showdown, and Google's not backing down. 🛡️🚀 #NexTechNest #Google #Bard #ArtificialIntelligence
