Today the #granttransitionprogram had some breakfast at local restaurant Whistle Stop, and then went to #feedmystarvingchildren for a volunteering experience. What a wonderful day filled with so many different skills! Communication, tipping, working together…to name a few!
his Friday we are going to have a Thanksgiving lunch. Today we made the turkey. These young ladies learned how to make a compound butter for under the skin, seasoned it inside and out, and after 4 hours, it was ready to carve. The building smells amazing! #granttransitionprogram
Today’s lunch in the #granttransitionprogram was #meatballsubs! First we brushed the rolls with some garlic butter and toasted them. Then heated up meatballs and sauce. Finally we loaded the subs up with cheese and warmed them up! Paired with a salad, this was yummy!
Today in the #granttransitionprogram we made #kfcbowls for lunch, and what a hit! We learned how to peel potatoes and make mashed potatoes from scratch, how to time out what to cook when, and how to work together on meal planning. So delicious and easy to make. #independentliving

Friday’s #communityouting was SO MUCH FUN! Yes, it was cold, but there were so many laughs. We zip lined, pumpkin patched, got lost in a cattle car maze, and just had a blast. Thank you to @stadefarm for an incredible day for the #granttransitionprogram!!

Lunch yesterday was perfect for a cold, rainy day. Loaded baked potato soup! We cooked the potatoes in the microwave, diced an onion and garlic, learned how to make a roux….so many #independentlivingskills were hit at once. In a delicious way! #granttransitionprogram
This afternoon we did more #CBI (community based instruction) and went grocery shopping at our local Woodman’s. Such great bargains there! We bought supplies for the week and also for lunch tmw-loaded baked potato soup! #granttransitionprogram #independentlivingskills
#CBI to our local @kohls today for a job interview outfit hunt. Students were given a fake budget of $150 to find a shirt, pants, and shoes for a job interview. Some of us stayed in budget, some went way over-more lessons to come! #granttransitionprogram #independentlivingskills
