The Democrat’s grand plan to create “safe” INJECTION SITES for illegal drug users to shoot-up — has stalled for the time being. Democrats quickly laid over HB23-1202 Thursday before it could die in committee. #HB1202 doesn’t appear to have much of a chance. #CoPolitics

Wow: Senate Health & Human Services Comm was about to vote on HB23-1202, which would let safe drug-use sites open (should applicable local gov sign off). When Sen. Kyle Mullica indicated he was voting no, sponsor Sen. Julie Gonzales jumped in + asked the bill be laid over.

Friends? Did Senate Health and Human Services vote down #HB1202? From @DrSarahAxelrath 's tweets, it looks like Mullica voted no, but did that mean an automatic fail? I went to grab a shower and they wrapped up...but it's not on the display board.

I don’t know how to understand an ED healthcare worker who would vote against preventing fatal overdoses with #OPS. We’ve worked the same shifts. We’ve seen the same tragic outcomes when people couldn’t get help in time. I don’t understand. Make it make sense. #HB1202

@CalcaterraSusan Nahhh after the first #HB1202 hearing I had to take a step back, too. I’ve lost the thread on how to connect with these people. Hope I’ll find it again some day. In the meantime the real heroes are @jabarocas, @SarahERowan2112, and others who manage to keep showing up. ❤️

I don’t listen to the opposition testimony anymore. It’s too frustrating to hear the same old stigmatizing, non-evidence based, and sometimes frankly nonsensical arguments against proven harm reduction policies - hearing after hearing. #HB1202

May I submit for consideration to the sheriff who argued against #OPS saying “every drug offender [sic] I know who has gotten clean [sic] has done so because they hit rock bottom and went to jail.” Ummm, sir. You *only* know people who have been to jail. 🙄 #HB1202

I’m there supporting #HB1202 in spirit! There’s a great group of addiction medicine specialists testifying in support, including testimony on behalf of CO @ASAMorg. I hope @COSenDem and #coleg will listen to public health experts for help solving a public health problem.
