One would easily assume The Hollywood Tower Hotel has been frozen since its 1994 opening, but many significant changes have occurred. Here are a few lost in time. ⚡️Hotel Gates unmarred by FastPass ⚡️Unobstructed Queue ⚡️Cobwebless Lobby ⚡️Hotel Gifts bypass hallway! #HTH30

Taken just a month before opening in 1994 this duo of publicity shots of the Hollywood Tower Hotel shows its original "Character Finishes"* complete with prominent electrical scorch marks, still-wrapped palms, and sedate/realistic lighting scheme. #HTH30 *Paint & Aging

Climax of the Grand Opening for festivities for The Hollywood Tower Hotel - Twilight Zone Tower of Terror held on this day 30 years ago in 1994. The Tower held the distinction of being the Flagship Imagineering attraction for over two decades after its opening! #HTH30

Chronological photos of the Hollywood Tower Hotel and Sunset Blvd rising in the Florida sun, beginning with a rare still of the first construction wall in 1991. #HTH30 1|2

A collection of concepts created by Steve Abernathy in 1991 when the Tower of Terror was still in the "free-fall" phase and was much more heavily influenced by the Chateau Marmont but slowly evolving into its final form. #HTH30

Kicking-off our #HTH30 celebration with a couple of concept paintings created by the legendary NINA RAE VAUGHN (in 1990 & 1993) from its beginnings as the Hollywood Haunted Hotel free-fall ride to its final form as the glamorous Hollywood Tower Hotel we love today!
