@penguinpress #HamiltonTogether I loved having a schedule to read to & knowing that there were others reading along too. I would certainly enjoy doing this again with another heavy weight book!

Though Hamilton’s influence was waning at the time of his death, it’s hard not to think about what he might have accomplished if he had lived longer than 49 years. The letter AH left Eliza may have made my eyes misty. “Adieu best of wives and best of women.” #HamiltonTogether

Did Eliza allow her husband to try to preserve his political prestige without attempting to intercede when she had lost her son in a duel, had young children to raise and precarious finances. Chernow only tells us that the couple entertained prior to the duel. #HamiltonTogether

As we sprint to the finish, it infuriates me that this brilliant man who laid much of the foundation for our government through his artful rhetoric could not conceive of a face-saving resolution to his dispute with Burr short of a duel. #HamiltonTogether
