We have a fabulous new accessible zig-zag path near the picnic area. This is 'Patsy's Path', made possible by a very kind and generous bequest to Fleet Pond Society from the late Patsy Welford, a great friend, volunteer and supporter.

Volunteers were hard at work at Sandy Bay this morning. Working alongside the Rangers, who drove the tractor, they filled in the channel which had been mysteriously cut into the island.
It was a really muddy job - especially as it decided to rain.

Clearing the pathways was the task for the volunteer team this morning. We strimmed back vegetation which had overrun the path along the Brookly Stream, and all the way down to the fishing jetty. It was hard work, but very satisfying. There's still more to do! #hartgreenspaces
Where last month there were bluebells, there is now a fabulous cover of bracken.
Bracken is an ancient plant which occurs on every continent except Antarctica. Amazing!
In the autumn it will die back to a glorious coppery brown. #HartGreenSpaces
