Now that schools have broken up, we're looking back at the extraordinary 2020-21 academic year.
The Autumn term saw limited opening, but @CityofOxfordCol students were able to visit our #HelenMuspratt exhibition, producing their own photos inspired by her work.

A fond farewell to our #HelenMuspratt exhibition!
We’d extended the display to June so that more people could enjoy it. Here, Simon and Daniel begin the deinstallation process, taking artwork off the wall and carefully stacking the work for storage.
Our #HelenMuspratt exhibition closes this Sunday 27 June.
Don't miss the opportunity to view the innovative work of this pioneering - and political - photographer!
Free entry - Weston Library.

Visiting our exhibitions Friday 11 June?
Due to a routine inspection in a few rooms:
- #ArtOfAdvertising will open midday
- #RootsToSeeds will open 10am or slightly after
Everything else - #HelenMuspratt exhibition, tours, café, shop - will welcome you from 10am as usual!
Helen Muspratt experimented with 'solarisation' techniques, following a chance viewing of one of Man Ray’s images in a photography magazine.
While our physical exhibition is closed, you can view some of Muspratt's innovative work online at:

Thank you @bodleianlibs for this wonderful experience and to @richove and @FranMonks for your support in this unique and exciting project.
Our @CityofOxfordCol students were delighted to take part and we're so proud of their incredible work inspired by #HelenMuspratt.
In October 2020, forty-four students from @Activate_Learn's City of Oxford College campus visited our #HelenMuspratt exhibition.
Fifteen created their own responses, which Bodley's Librarian @richove and photographer @FranMonks reviewed.

The #HelenMuspratt photographic archive was recently gifted to the Libraries. We’re working on its long term storage.
The prints & negatives in the pioneering photographer's collection present a few preservation challenges...

What happens to a Bodleian photography exhibition during lockdown?
Jessica and Dan carefully cover every single one of the #HelenMuspratt photographs with heavy brown paper to protect them from exposure to light while we're closed to the public.

We asked if anybody had photos from Oxford's Ramsey & Muspratt studio.
@ladylynncarter has kindly shared these lovely images from her wedding day!
If you have #HelenMuspratt snaps, please post them, or get in touch to add them to our Weston Library exhibition.

Amazing image of my gran, #HelenMuspratt during the more experimental part of her career as a portrait photographer. More info on her here https://t.co/Oc4E6hOlXE

These stunning portrait photos are from the Ramsey & Muspratt studio at Cornmarket St, Oxford (1930s-70s).
Do you recognise any of the subjects? We'd love to hear from you if so!
Drop into Weston Library to see the full, free #HelenMuspratt exhibition.

@Ben_WT Curses! As usual, the esteemed Bodley's Librarian got there before us.
No - no need to book. Check out the amazing #HelenMuspratt photography exhibition and Out of the Woods display while you're there.
And let us know how you got on. :)
I went to see the #HelenMuspratt exhibition at @bodleianlibs today, part of @Photo_Oxford (which starts next week).
Highly recommended. Very much of its time, but she did great #portraits and dabbled in solarisation. This 1930 studio portrait of a busking miner caught my eye.

Amazing day out in Oxford on Monday to see my Gran’s exhibition. She was an extraordinary woman and an amazing photographer. It’s wonderful to know that her work is now in such safe hands. #Bodleian #photography #women #art #exhibition #helenmuspratt

"She was always fascinated by the shape and angle of people's faces; she used to say she was never in any situation where she wasn't thinking about how to photograph the people she was with" Jessica Sutcliffe, on her photographer mother #HelenMuspratt @Photo_Oxford
@MisakCheryl @OUPPhilosophy What a wonderful cover for your book - thank you Cheryl. It's likely that Lettice Ramsey took the photo as it's 1950s Cambridge but as you know, she & Helen Muspratt kept the 'Ramsey & Muspratt' name throughout their separate Oxbridge careers. @bodleianlibs #HelenMuspratt
