Japan's dissolution case against the Family Federation rests heavily on civil lawsuits filed by former members.
Yet those civil lawsuits were built by a network of United Church of Christ in Japan (UCCJ) pastors, left-wing attorneys, Japan Communist Party operatives, and professional deprogrammers.
According to 2000 Diet testimony, over 4,000 Family Federation members were abducted, locked in rooms, and told they would not be released until they renounced their faith.
Roughly 200 UCCJ pastors were allegedly involved.
National Police Agency Commissioner Tanaka confirmed on record: that conduct is a clear criminal offense.
The civil suits produced through those sessions became central evidence in Japan's dissolution proceedings.
Courts never examined where those lawsuits came from.
They have evaded accountability by calling it a family matter.
Without resolving this, there can be no true resolution.
