@darrindavis @mikesgoode @thisiscaramore Also, most of the current track in the USA is privately owned. @Amtrak leases time/space on it for their trains and often has to wait because freight is a higher priority. Any #HiSpeedRail would need to purpose built, those old tracks often also have low speeds limits.

I would be more than willing to pay more in taxes if it meant the USA gets a national hi-speed rail system. Our privatized airline industry royally sucks. #HiSpeedRail

Me voila: arrived in sunny (17degC) Perpignan! Approx 900km in 5 hours thanks to @TGVINOUI #HiSpeedRail ! Now to get myself psyched up for ‘le Crunch’! As they say around here “Sera la guerra”... no other @armyrugbyunion supporters in sight... hope I’m not the only one here!!!
