.@ndhapple right on the money. It’s as though what happened 2 months ago too ancient to recall. Her whole #HousingCompact? Uceremoniously dumped. Why couldn’t legDems/advocates figure out that some version of it was needed, politically (to assuage & pressure Gov) & on merits? 1/2

Just reupping this: If you take the legislative leader statement at face value (and there was never bill language introduced, so ymmv) — it still would have given lawmakers almost everything they wanted while giving the governor/mayor very little in the way of new production.

I’m disappointed as an #affordablehousing advocate that @NYSenateDems @NYSA_Majority rejected @KathyHochul’s #housingcompact, but I’m devastated as NYer that Legislature won’t compromise w/ NY’s 1st woman Governor in same party on her brave proposal to solve NY’s biggest problem!
