Sammi Deen Speech: On International Human Rights Day, a seminar was held at Karachi Press Club by Baloch Yakjehti Committee commemorating the 76th year of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Speaking at the seminar, BYC’s central representative Sammi Deen Baloch highlighted the State’s persistence negligence of fundamental rights and perpetuation of Baloch genocide citing the recent abduction of five individuals, four of whom were students of Karachi University. Sammi expressed the Baloch people's disillusionment, stating they're denied recognition as Pakistani citizens despite identifying as such. Their children are labeled anti-state for speaking out against human rights abuses, and the police perpetrate violence against Baloch families, instilling fear to silence them. She highlighted the oppression and misery in her hometown Awaran, a region marred by cyclic violence and rampant military operations. Sammi stated that Baloch people live in constant fear of enforced disappearances and violence. Despite being labeled anti-state, they remain committed to peaceful resistance. She emphasized that enforced disappearances affect not only Balochistan but also Sindh and Pashtun regions, and urged the Baloch nation to unite and stand against these injustices. #HumanRightsDay #StopBalochGenocide
