Next question - What's the best way to reintroduce lost microbes? Professor Spector talked about faecal transplant, now only used in extreme cases & for treating ulcerative colitis. Studies still underway; easier to get rid of bad microbes than restore good ones #IFSTlecture
Great question about equity - if we don’t provide access to studies like these to those who can’t afford it, what are we missing? Who is being disadvantaged? #ifstlecture @BDA_Dietitians
Another great question about how representative the diet study can be when participants pay to participate & have expendable income. Prof Spector talks about getting the numbers to make sure it is representative & hopefully finding ways to distribute some free kits #IFSTlecture
