The IPOR Index serves as a "DeFi yield curve" benchmark, derived from lending rates of external protocols. (AAVE & Compound)
Current DeFi yields are VERY CLOSE to T-Bill levels, indicating a bearish sentiment in DeFi.
Less activity = Less Yield.

We’ve been in a new interest rate regime since late July
If we see a de risking in DeFi leverage, there could be short term spikes in the stETH staking rate, opportune time to take a pay fixed SRS as derisking comes with onchain gas expenditure and increased MEV rewards for validators
now net short BTC @ 40665. Only the second time I am net short for the past one year. I still found it cheaper than puts right now, but may consider averaging with puts on a bounce.. short term play, probably wrong above 42500, but probably turning in a longer term position below 37000. It is never comfortable being a short seller but:
- hats down to Blackrock and brothers who really made you buy the top (and probably leverage into it). Award of the best shillers of 2023
- Consumers are still buying healthily, massive rates cuts are not a given
- Those protocols who timed their airdrops perfectly, giving a sense that the worse is behind us. Airdrop is such a funny concept. The crypto community is so vocal in defending the existence of cryptos to protect ourselves from the recent inflation plague due to big economies money printing machines and out of control hands out during bad times (COVID). But these airdrop are just replicating the above at their ecosystems level, increasing monetary base, handing out free money in ecosystem where nothing much is produced yet.
- CT is so eager to use technical analysis to tell you is time to buy (rarely to sell) but has to wait a move of 100% to tell you this is the beginning of a bull run and it is time to leverage. Stablecoins funding hovering near 10% level = the community is already leveraged to their eye balls as per @ipor_io index
