#IPOSC congratulates dr. Jan Tjeerd de Faber for his great effort. as the Dutch Parliament achieved a significant milestone on April 8, 2025, by passing the “Safe New Year’s Eve” law, effectively banning consumer fireworks in the Netherlands. This historic decision, the result of two decades of advocacy by ophthalmologists, medical professionals, firefighters, and police officers, was approved by a decisive majority (98/150).
A key catalyst was the 2015 launch of https://t.co/X0GbWYw0hz, which garnered over 750,000 citizen signatures and support from 1,300 organizations.
