Douglas Luiz is a prime candidate for the eye-test v the stats for me. Be interesting to see him at #NFFC to test it out Clearly a technically gifted footballer, but we all know talent only gets you so far, particularly in the ever-more athletic Premier League I'll share the data I have on him over the years and some comparisons in this thread. In the 2019-20 season he shows up in the numbers as a destroyer, but a pretty low key score of only 55%. His main skillset was being direct, i.e. looking to progress quickly. In the 20-21 season, he ranks higher on the Conductor profile, reaching 70% and you can see his skillsets grown in terms of retaining and recycling the ball. You can also see his pitch position gets deeper (-.30) and his anchoring score is one of the highest in all my Prem data. I.e. sitting deep and conducting play behind his team. 1/many
