Today #inmyontedclass we spent time discussing the importance of slowing the spread of COVID-19. We discussed 'flattening the curve' & looked at data from the 1918 flu pandemic. S's had many questions and we did our best to answer. Many washed their hands on the way out to lunch!
Grade 10s did a fantastic job with their frog dissections, identifying organs and comparing them to their human counterparts in structure and function. True โhands onโ learning.

#InMyOntEdClass we conducted an experiment using various substances to see if they would form mixtures or if they would separate. Minds were blown when they realized that the rubbing alcohol we were using was same ingredient that is in hand sanitizer.

Today #InMyOntEdClass we discussed the difference between primary & secondary sources in history, then looked at a primary source (The Gradual Civilization Act of 1857). Good questions about what the law meant for indigenous people at the time & the inherent racism in the law.
