In line with GoIs mission of #TBMuktBharat’, the @DBTIndia, Ministry of Science & Technology & @MoHFW_INDIA have jointly set up the Indian Tuberculosis Genome Sequencing Consortium #InTGS, sequencing 10000 Mtb genomes so far. Through Whole Genome sequencing and targeted sequencing, the consortium is detecting resistance mutations within hours to days as compared to the traditional culture-based drug susceptibility testing (DST) that takes weeks to identify resistant TB strains.
