Excited to be back at @RoehamptonEdu tomorrow to present with @kamenopoulou the book '#InclusiveEducation and #Disability in the Global South' ๐ซโฟ๏ธ๐
You can also watch @GLOBI_inclusion's past #InclusiveDevChat to know more about the book: https://t.co/7pQDhkZnxq

@clementc26 @RJrC_Villamero No worries Clement! Hopefully we'll organise more #InclusiveDevChat sessions in the near future. And yes, it'd be great to catch up soon! ๐๐ป
Apologies for not joining the #InclusiveDevChat #live, but it looked like a fantastic convening! Thanks, @A_Pregel & @RJrC_Villamero for your leadership! I'd love to connect offline to catch up!
@A_Pregel @GLOBI_inclusion The opportunity of exploring and experiencing first hand inclusive practices from different countries. Coming from a very small country, I appreciated vast amounts of professional experiences from international colleagues and professors. #InclusiveDevChat
@GLOBI_inclusion A6: Landmarks like UNCRPD + SDGs are helpful, but (how) do they influence the lives of people with disabilities in the Global South? We need more research that captures the unique experiences of disability, inclusion and exclusion in these contexts #InclusiveDevChat
@jazueta1 @RJrC_Villamero @RoehamptonUni @kamenopoulou Indeed. #Disability #data is fundamental in #GlobalDev, but lived experiences are equally relevant, and it's important to create the space for these to emerge. #InclusiveDevChat
Thank you, @GLOBI_inclusion 4 facilitating d first ever #InclusiveDevChat twitter chat. I look forward 2 engaging next time. Let's bring more people into the discussion. And hopefully this chat will not end up being one of those 'preach to the converted' type of initiative. Viva!
If you want to know more about the book โ#InclusiveEducation and #disability in the Global Southโ and the studies conducted in Belize, Bhutan, Malaysia and the Philippines, visit @Palgrave_ at https://t.co/qVsNyHqIPA #InclusiveDevChat #GlobalDev #InclusiveDev
@RJrC_Villamero @A_Pregel @RoehamptonUni Agreed! I also notice that there is limited push for qualitative studies. I believe it is one of the best approaches to identifying with persons with disabilities-more ethnographic studies as @kamenopoulou demonstrated in Colombia. #InclusiveDevChat
And thanks to @kamenopoulou, @jazueta1, @dawa_dukpa, @RJrC_Villamero and @A_Pregel for taking part in the #InclusiveDevChat Hangout. You can watch the video here: https://t.co/RwPZs2R1iF
A6: Involvement of Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) is the first crucial step. People with disabilities and their representatives need to be involved in all #GlobalDev efforts, particularly wen they focus on education. #inclusivedevchat
@DreaVilleneuve @RJrC_Villamero Same here. I'll do some research and see if I can dig something out :) #InclusiveDevChat
Thank you for joining #InclusiveDevChat today! We hope you found it interesting and thought provoking... we surely did! Follow @GLOBI_inclusion and keep an eye on https://t.co/H14ihmHSGO for future #InclusiveDevChat events!
A6. Bring to the table the voices of teachers and children with disabilities in discussing and debating about inclusive education either locally, nationally, regionally, or globally. Nothing about them without them.
#InclusiveDevChat
@GLOBI_inclusion A6: Funding for more research is needed to gather voices from the Global South about their realities, challenges and own understandings of inclusive education and disability #InclusiveDevChat
A6: Involvement of Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) is the first crucial step. People with disabilities and their representatives need to be involved in all #GlobalDev efforts, particularly wen they focus on education. #inclusivedevchat
@GLOBI_inclusion A5: I agree that provision of scholarships is a huge step. Additionally, exchange programs can be an excellent approach. Sharing applications in different contexts can help in #InclusiveEducation in the Global South. #InclusiveDevChat
A6 The rights of children with disabilities need to be mainstreamed into all education programmes. We need better training and sensitisation for teachers, the provision of assistive devices and accessible learning materials for all children. #InclusiveDevChat https://t.co/74WZzoMz6g
Q6: How can we make #InclusiveEducation in #GlobalDev more effective, equitable and sustainable? #InclusiveDevChat
@julia_inclusion @SAK_Sweden @jftrani1 Lovely, thanks for sharing Julia! I'll have a look! :) #inclusivedevchat
