Today, I had the honor of hosting key stakeholders, including principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, and leaders of civil society organizations, at the International Legislative Dialogue on Women and the Constitution Amendment Process in Nigeria, organized by the House Committee on the Review of the Constitution in Abuja. The gathering marked a significant step towards promoting inclusive governance and national progress. As the Speaker, I emphasized that the dialogue aimed to establish a clear and actionable path towards meaningful reform, rather than mere rhetoric. Our objective is to ensure Nigerian women secure their rightful place within our governance framework, recognizing that empowering women is both a moral and economic imperative. Women bring distinct perspectives that shape vital issues, from healthcare to economic policy, and their increased representation is crucial for sustainable national development.
