Leader of Opposition Shri @RahulGandhi came to Indore with a microphone and a manufactured “System vs Students” narrative.
At Indore’s “Chhatron Ki Goonj”, Rahul Gandhi chose to portray every challenge faced by students as proof of a “captured system” and reduce a complex education ecosystem to political slogans.
But the reality is more consequential than mere rhetoric. Students deserve answers, not political theatre.
While Mr. LoP is busy peddling his agenda, India has expanded higher-education access, with GER rising from 23.7% in 2014–15 to 30% in 2023–24. PM-Vidyalaxmi now provides collateral-free education loans and interest support for eligible students, while PM-USHA is strengthening infrastructure and quality across state institutions. Our QS World rankings have improved significantly in the last decade and so has our institutional capacity.
On examination reform, the government has moved towards computer-based testing precisely to reduce vulnerabilities associated with paper-based examinations, while acknowledging that examination integrity requires continuous strengthening.
Modi Government enacted a dedicated law against exam malpractices in 2024 and has now strengthened it with tougher penalties and fast-track courts to ensure those who sabotage students’ futures face strict punishment.
The concerns raised by students must be taken seriously. But so must the work being done to expand opportunity, affordability, infrastructure and transparency. Will Rahul Gandhi speak about solutions, or will he keep turning every student’s anxiety into a political prop?
India’s students do not need a politician to tell them to be angry. They need institutions that act, opportunities that expand and a government that stands with them.
That is the difference between politics over students and politics for students.

ज्या-ज्या कॉमेडियन्सना सत्तेच्या रोषाचा, दबावाचा किंवा ‘ग्रेट हॅरासमेंट’चा सामना करावा लागला, त्यांना एकाच मंचावर आणणं—काहींना हे हलकं राजकारण वाटेल. पण सत्तेमुळे त्रास सहन केलेल्या लोकांना आपली गोष्ट सांगण्यासाठी व्यासपीठ देणं, हाही राजकीय प्रतिवादाचा एक मार्ग असू शकतो.
विशेषतः Gen Z सोबत संवाद साधण्यासाठी विनोद, व्यंग आणि पॉप-कल्चरची भाषा प्रभावी ठरू शकते.
राजकारण म्हणजे प्रत्येक वेळी गंभीर चेहरा, जड शब्द आणि लांबलचक भाषणंच असली पाहिजेत असं कुठे आहे? कधी कधी सत्तेला विचारलेला सर्वात बोचरा प्रश्न हास्यातूनही येऊ शकतो! 😄
