Busoga region has lots of adventure activities but it is also a hub for #InfrastructureTourism. On day one of the #ExploreBusoga campaign, excursionists toured the Nile Breweries Ltd plant in Jinja, the Nalubaale Power Station and of course the Source of the Nile bridge. Established in 1951 by a consortium of Ugandan businessmen, @NBLUganda is a huge contributor to the Infrastructure Tourism component and receives a sizable number of both domestic and foreign tourists all year round. We appreciate their partnership with @MTWAUganda on this campaign. @UegclOfficial's Nalubaale Power Station, formerly known as Owen Falls Dam is Uganda's oldest hydropower station commissioned in 1954. It also draws in tourists who come to explore its magnificence and technical aspect. Infrastructure tourism explores facilities such as dams, bridges, manufacturing plants and historical sites among others. It gives tourists a chance to access sections of the facilities that are otherwise inaccessible to the public. #ExploreBusoga #ExploreUganda

This year’s World Tourism Day celebrations will be held in #HoimaCity, a place that boasts a rich culture and is undoubtedly a cradle of the history of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom. Apart from the #InfrastructureTourism that is booming in the Bunyoro region thanks to the Oil discovery and subsequent development ventures around the same, tourists can learn about the intriguing histories of Bunyoro by visiting sites like the Mparo Royal Tombs, a burial site of Omukama Kabalega who reigned in the late 19th century, and several other Kingdom royals. The Nyamyarro Royal Museum is also a great pick for traditional and cultural immersion where tourists can see artifacts and royal regalia preserved from previous reigns. There is definitely so much to explore in Bunyoro including the 12-stair White Monument outside the Mparo tomb yard - a mark of the day Sir Emin Pasha & Omukama Kabalenga met, and the days spent trying to convince the latter to accept the British Colonial rule, which he refused. #WorldTourismDay23 #ExploreBunyoro #ExploreUganda

I really hope I get to see trash pickup!! This is for an entire street. There’s a gigantic underground container that a truck pulls out of the ground. No smell, no rodents, no trash sitting on the street. #InfrastructureTourism
