Bound & Smothered by Graham dePenros In all lands, a shadow dwells. A quest. Not in search of gold but to impose breadth of the realm, not depth of sight. Transhumanists march into a night constructed of dreams that they will not share in humanity's plight. All lands once rich in lore and song now sing a tune where all belong to a chorus uniform and weak-strong. But beware of this illusion of strength; therein lies a wrong. In the guise of unity's call, the threads of all cultures fall, and globalism, a shadow tall, casts over all lands a homogenizing pall. The global herd, now undifferentiated, moves. Bound not by choice but by the humdrum of the would-be slavers' tool. Each fears the collective will disapprove. Singular inspiring tales of sovereignty that once soothed now lie in deep statutes, criminalized, named, as radicalized. Absent of meaning, the self fades. Falling into the collective's embrace, all the herd wades. Individuality's debt is now fully paid. In its place, all share that common shade. The world, physical and imaginative, so vast, so wide, is now denied. The few in a man-made paradise plan to reside. Enhanced by their own hand, they transcend divine flesh and travel alone to where they, as gods, will abide. Their realm is stark. They stand, not a beacon in the dark but a testament to that mark, spoken of and in books foretold of man's desire to leave the Ark. Remember, ye who seek to fly that wings of steel may touch the sky, yet the roots of the Earth never lie, and truly, it is this soil on which our Souls and all Truths rely.
