On 8 August 2026, I visited the #Issam_Fares Faculty at the University of #Balamand in Beino, #Akkar, at the invitation of Mr. Nejad Issam Fares, where I toured the laboratories and reviewed student projects and programmes focused on technology, AI, and future skills. The visit reaffirmed Akkar’s strong potential to develop a new generation equipped to innovate, contribute, and compete in the digital economy. Technology can create opportunities across #Lebanon, in every region of the country. I stressed the importance of continued investment in education and technology, and of expanding access to digital skills and emerging technologies as essential drivers of development and a knowledge based economy.
