It has now been 1 year and 7 months since we first requested the basic credit card related documents of my late father, Shri Abdul Wahab Parkar including his KYC documents (PAN & Aadhaar), income proof copy, credit card application form, and the credit card agreement copy.
Timeline of Requests:
15 April 2024: First request submitted at the BKC Branch, Mumbai
18 October 2024: Second request sent from my late father’s registered email ID
8 November 2024: Third request again submitted at the BKC Branch, Mumbai
Despite multiple formal requests, ICICI Bank has failed to provide even a single supporting document for the credit card issued to my late father.
After one year and seven months of non-compliance, what conclusion should a family draw?
That the credit card may have been issued without proper KYC documents, without income proof, and without a signed application form or agreement copy — which amounts to serious malpractice and a clear violation of RBI KYC & documentation guidelines.
And ICICI Bank’s predictable reply will be:
“We cannot share documents due to customer security reasons.”
But then how did:
ICICI Bank sends NPA threat emails to a deceased customer’s email after being informed of his death?
ICICI Bank asks legal heirs to make payments without showing a single document?
ICICI Bank conducts forced recoveries by deducting dues from joint Fixed Deposits?
If the bank can communicate NPA threats, send recovery reminders, and recover money from legal heirs, then the legal heirs have every right to access the credit-card–related documents.
This entire case reflects ICICI Bank’s blatant failure in due diligence, documentation, and system checks, all done in the name of sales targets, greed, and business growth.
And yet the bank publicly claims to have “zero tolerance for malpractice and corruption” a statement that clearly stands only on paper, not in practice.
The RBI complaints were also closed without providing the required credit card related documents.
