For those itching to compare AIM-260A unit cost to the AMRAAM, note that #JATM was cut into production in 23/24 & seems to be transitioning from Low Rate Initial Phase to Full Rate Production phase in FY26. AMRAAM in contrast sees its 30th annual production lot ordered in FY26.

USAF has confirmed that the AIM-260A #JATM is not a procurement new start for FY26. FY26 is the first time the US Air Force and Navy have publicly revealed AIM-260A funding in its budget. Prior low-rate (LRIP) production lots were not reported in prior budget materials.
