JAXPORT celebrates the arrival of Maersk’s Seaspan Montevideo, one of the first vessels to call JAXPORT as part of the new Gemini Cooperation.
The Gemini Cooperation North America Shuttle service is a partnership between ocean carriers @Maersk and @HapagLloydAG. It connects Jacksonville, Florida, directly to Cartagena, Colombia – a major transshipment hub – and the Gemini global network, which includes ports in Asia, Europe, the west coast of South America, Central America, Oceania and the Caribbean.
The port’s commercial team and port partners presented Maersk leadership with a commemorative plaque on board the vessel to celebrate the vessel’s visit to Jacksonville.
“Our new connectivity through Gemini provides even more options for customers seeking to move cargo through the Southeast US,” said JAXPORT Chief Commercial Officer @Robertpeek. “The service offers flexible transshipment, access to new markets, and competitive transit times backed by Gemini’s schedule reliability.”
