Current status: using #JITWatch (https://t.co/aL3VwKreNm), trying to understand the native code produced for a string switch vs. hash map look-up. Not that I'd know 100% yet what I'm doing, but it's fun for sure and quite a cool learning experience π€.
Spent some time over the weekend to learn about analyzing the native code produced by #Java's JIT compiler. Feeling a bit like Alice falling down the rabbit hole: a completely new world opening up, with so many strange and unknown (to me) things to discover π€―.
