[NYE EVENT STATEMENT] We would like to address the recent concerns and provide clarification on several points. We believe it is important to release this statement to ensure proper understanding. When AHOF was announced to be a guest at GMA Countdown event, our team immediately discussed possible fan support projects for JL that were feasible within the limited timeframe and our available resources. Below is a clarification on each project mentioned: • Flags This project was initially tentative and placed as a lower priority due to time constraints and volunteer availability. The purpose of the flags was to spark curiosity among casual attendees by highlighting JL as the Filipino member of the group, especially since the event was not exclusive to AHOF. The flags were initially approved by the restaurant on the 2nd floor where our volunteers had reservations. However, on the day of the event, security personnel informed our volunteers that flags were no longer allowed at that location. We immediately sought alternative volunteers on the opposite side of the venue, where guards advised that flags were permitted. Unfortunately, volunteers were only available later than expected, which led to the decision to remove the flags from the poles. • Sintra Boards Our original plan was for the sintra boards to be carried within the crowd. After reviewing event restrictions, we instead coordinated with volunteers who were able to reserve restaurant slots. With initial approval from the restaurant, sintra boards, flags, and other banners were allowed to be displayed on the 1st and 2nd floors. Later, volunteers on the 2nd floor were informed by guards that hanging banners on railings and displaying flags were no longer allowed. • Star Lights This project was intended for crowd attendees. Fans who were able to secure star lights were encouraged to use them during the AHOF performance. As these items are small, lightweight, and within the allowable size based on GMA guidelines, we believed they were permitted for crowd use. • Booth Regarding questions about why we did not have a booth: unfortunately, we were unable to secure one as we only learned about the booth opportunity through a fan on the evening of December 27. Given the limited time, we explored an alternative option and coordinated with the manager of a seaside coffee shop to use the café as a designated space for our volunteers. This allowed us to distribute food, drinks, and freebies in an organized manner, without disrupting other fans or casual attendees, while also providing our volunteers with a proper place to stay and coordinate. • Guidelines / Other Information We would like to clarify that, based on our review, we did not receive any additional guidelines beyond those officially announced by SM MOA. All the projects we prepared came from a place of care, respect, and genuine love for JL. Our only intention was to support him in the best way we could, within our limitations and circumstances. As JL rarely has the opportunity to perform in the Philippines—his home country—each appearance holds deep emotional significance for us. Moments like these are rare, and when they happen, our hope is simply to make him feel seen, supported, and loved. Should you have any questions or need further clarification, our DMs are always open.
