That is exactly what happened when we hosted @JGkibande at the @JSConversations to discuss the Business, Practice and Future of Construction Law.
What started as a conversation about construction law turned into a very insightful discussion about career growth, the value of constructive friendships, and the future of the legal profession.
The right conversations do not just add knowledge; they refine you. And this is exactly what @JGkibande did. He refined us.
One of the most important lessons he left for young lawyers was the importance of patience and exposure in the early years of practice. He encouraged young advocates not to rush into specialization too early, but to take time to explore different areas of practice, including litigation, because it exposes you to many aspects of the law and helps you discover where your passion and strength truly lie.
He also reminded us that the law is incredibly diverse. From procurement, standards, construction, banking, employment, technology, and beyond, every area of law creates an opportunity for practice and a chance to build a meaningful career. The responsibility, therefore, is on every young lawyer to identify where they want to be and intentionally grow into it.
Thank you Counsel Julius for joining us at the Lawyers’ Parliament, sharing your knowledge and experience with such clarity, simplicity, and humility. We look forward to your book on Construction Law, which will help us better understand the foundational concepts in this field.
