#JSVY2 had an active afternoon playing a range of different activities to get their hearts racing. They had opportunities to use their teamwork skills, hand-eye coordination, courage and perseverance.
#JSVY2 have just begun their art unit by carefully sketching different imaginative fish. Important skills learnt today were to take their time, sketch lightly and think about variations of colour.
#JSVY2 had a special talk about the islands of Komodo from our Geography expert: Mr Pratt. They learnt about a unique creature to the island... the Komodo Dragon! What a great introduction to our new Geography unit.
Well... what an unusual start to the day for #JSVY2. A crime scene was found in a classroom. What had happened to this poor flattened boy? Come to Year 2 to find out.
Opening morning is here! #JSVY2 have been showing their parents what they have been learning this term. Instructional writing, multiplication, division, science experiments and paper aeroplane making in DT are just a few areas of learning that the children have enjoyed.
Come fly with me, weโll fly, weโll fly away! #JSVY2 have just embarked on their new DT unit: Paper aeroplanes! Research is a key starting point and therefore, each child made three different types of planes for testing. After testing, children choose their favourite.

#JSVY2 had an unexpected guest, delivering some special types of post. But... there was a problem; the envelopes and letters had been mixed up! Year 2 had to make informed decisions on who they were from, the type of post and the intended receiver.
How absorbent are different materials? #JSVY2 have been testing different material for their absorbency. They made thoughtful predictions and ensured that the experiment was a fair test. It is safe to say - Don't use tin foil to soak up a spill!
