We cannot and must not allow it to be derailed by those few who thrive on chaos and reject peace. The upcoming elections and referendum are not merely political exercises. They are a solemn national commitment. This promise is inseparable from the dream for which Saheed Sharif Osman Hadi. We are deeply sorry for the terror and violence you have endured. The nation has witnessed your courage and tolerance in the face of terror. Attacks on journalists are attacks on truth itself. End অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের বিবৃতি ঢাকা, ১৯ ডিসেম্বর: সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে বাংলাদেশের সকল নাগরিককে আহ্বান জানানো হচ্ছে—কয়েকজন বিচ্ছিন্ন উগ্র গোষ্ঠীর দ্বারা সংঘটিত সকল প্রকার সহিংসতার বিরুদ্ধে দৃঢ়তার সঙ্গে সতর্ক থাকুন। আমরা সহিংসতা, ভীতি প্রদর্শন, অগ্নিসংযোগ এবং জানমাল ধ্বংসের সকল কর্মকাণ্ডকে দৃঢ়ভাবে ও দ্ব্যর্থহীনভাবে নিন্দা জানাই। দেশের ইতিহাসের এই সংকটময় সময়ে আমরা একটি ঐতিহাসিক গণতান্ত্রিক রূপান্তরের মধ্য দিয়ে অগ্রসর হচ্ছি। যারা বিশৃঙ্খলাকে পুঁজি হিসেবে নেয় এবং শান্তির পথকে উপেক্ষা করে—এমন অল্প কয়েকজনের কারণে এই অগ্রযাত্রা আমরা কোনোভাবেই ব্যাহত হতে দিতে পারি না এবং দেব না। আসন্ন নির্বাচন ও গণভোট কেবল রাজনৈতিক অনুশীলন নয়; এগুলো একটি গুরুতর জাতীয় অঙ্গীকার। এই অঙ্গীকার অবিচ্ছেদ্যভাবে জড়িয়ে আছে সেই স্বপ্নের সঙ্গে, যার জন্য শহীদ শরিফ ওসমান হাদি তাঁর জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছেন। তাঁর আত্মত্যাগ ও স্মৃতির প্রতি সম্মান জানাতে হলে সংযম, দায়িত্বশীলতা এবং ঘৃণা প্রত্যাখ্যানের প্রতি অবিচল অঙ্গীকার প্রয়োজন। দ্য ডেইলি স্টার, প্রথম আলো ও নিউ এজ–এর সাংবাদিকদের প্রতি আমরা বলতে চাই—আমরা আপনাদের পাশে আছি। আপনারা যে সন্ত্রাস ও সহিংসতার শিকার হয়েছেন, তার জন্য আমরা গভীরভাবে দুঃখিত। সন্ত্রাসের মুখেও আপনাদের সাহস ও সহনশীলতা জাতি প্রত্যক্ষ করেছে। সাংবাদিকদের ওপর হামলা মানেই সত্যের ওপর হামলা। আমরা আপনাদের পূর্ণ ন্যায়বিচারের আশ্বাস দিচ্ছি। ময়মনসিংহে এক হিন্দু ব্যক্তিকে পিটিয়ে হত্যার ঘটনায় আমরা গভীরভাবে নিন্দা জানাই। নতুন বাংলাদেশে এ ধরনের সহিংসতার কোনো স্থান নেই। এই নৃশংস অপরাধের সঙ্গে জড়িতদের কাউকেই ছাড় দেওয়া হবে না। এই সংকটময় মুহূর্তে আমরা প্রত্যেক নাগরিকের প্রতি আহ্বান জানাই—সহিংসতা, উসকানি ও ঘৃণাকে প্রত্যাখ্যান ও প্রতিরোধের মাধ্যমে শহীদ হাদির প্রতি যথাযথ সম্মান প্রদর্শন করুন।
