Takeaways from @THESpringGames thus far:
- @MonmouthSB is one heck of a gritty squad.
- @UCASoftball can drop some π£
- Madeira Beach is a GORGEOUS venue
More to come in my eventual recap for @JustinsWorldSB #JWOS
This is @UCASoftball pitcher Jordan Johnson's dad. I had to snap a photo of his resourcefulness. He scrounged up a bucket from around the complex & found the one hole in the net to snap photos of the Bears. #JWOS
Cylla Hill of @UCASoftball hits the first home run of Saturday at Madeira Beach! Bears lead 1-0 over Presbyterian. #JWOS #better20gether
Let's try to recap really quick:
Last week:
Florida State over Alabama x2
This week:
Alabama 8, Washington 0
Washington 7, Florida State 0
Alrighty then. #JWOS
Fans have taken up residence on each step leading to the outfield bleachers; are stacked 2-deep behind the grandstands; and are standing up at the top of the opposing field grandstands & turned around, all to see the action in this FSU/Washington game. #JWOS
Just realized I have approximately eighteen unreturned text messages. All from at least three days ago. Apologies to all. It's definitely softball season. #JWOS
B2: @_kelseybennett_ with some major softball savvy, juking the fielder and beating the throw home to score after a brief rundown. Mackenzie Lawter follows with a 3-run shot and @HokiesSoftball leads 4-3! #JWOS
This game started at 10 am. It's 10:43. We're an inning and a half in. #JWOS
After a first-pitch strike from Rochard, a music delay and open outfield gate cause consecutive delays. #JWOS
T1: The first RBI of the @AlabamaSB season belongs to Bailey Hemphill, as she laces one off the CF wall to score Alexis Mack. A great relay tags Hemphill out at second. #JWOS
Team USA leads Liberty 18-0, and we're having fun here, folks. Liberty HC Dot Richardson just inserted a pinch runner for a pinch runner, and the initial pinch runner stepped into the on-deck circle to hit next. #JWOS
I wondered about the potential crowd for this @LibertySB/@USASoftballWNT game in Clearwater tonight. I shouldn't have. Grandstand is packed and outfield stands are even nearly full. Big crowd for the midweek matchup to kick off @SPCEliteInvite this weekend! #JWOS
Two of the three longest-tenured coaching staffs in Division I kicking off the last day of @NFCAorg Leadoff Classic in Clearwater. @BaylorSoftball vs. @MSUSoftball for some 9 am Sunday softball! #JWOS
Becky Clark just got ejected from this South Alabama/Minnesota game. Lot of controversial calls in this one. Gophers lead 2-0 B7. #JWOS
The 'Noles scored in the 6th, 7th, and 8th last night against Bama; put 22 runs on Detroit Mercy earlier today; and now lead Alabama again 8-0. #JWOS
FYI, Since trailing 7-1 last night, @FSU_Softball has scored 37 STRAIGHT RUNS overall including 15 straight against Bama
.@TXStateSoftball is demolishing Louisville right now, and it's not an unfair use of the word. Bobcats lead 5-0 and have already chased Chardonnay Harris from the circle. #JWOS
Another day, another dinger for Jazmyn Rollin.
The @mizzousoftball shortstop goes deep for the second day in a row and the Tigers lead Baylor 1-0. #JWOS
Minnesota puts three runs on the board against Devin Wallace and now leads 3-0 headed B1. @GopherSoftball batters hit the ball hard and were patient in their half of the frame. #JWOS
