#Jackaday this day 2021 💙 #BTPosse This day 2022 you died, just shy of your 11th birthday. Thank you Jack for your presence, loving me, connecting with me in ways no one ever had. Thank you for your boundless energy, your stubbornness and your capacity to learn and shape yourself around me (I wasn’t easy and that hasn’t changed!) For that reason alone I continue to fight. I fight to find an existence further away from anorexia, bulimia, self injury, addiction, psychiatric institutions and towards the person I may have been had I been offered enough appropriate attention. I survived growing up isolated and unconnected due to the disorder that surrounded me. The truth is that I was never disordered but my growing up was hideously so. Trauma doesn’t always look like you might imagine - it breeds within places and families that may look straight and proper (and safe) on the outside. Jack you also brought with you the opportunity to explore and connect with humans aka the #BTPosse #BTWelfare. I literally owe my life to you, but perhaps most importantly to the child who never discovered how she felt or who she was.

A rare photo of Jack on duty #Jackaday on this day in 2018. He supported me to many appointments at the Adult Burns Clinic at Southmead Hospital, where this photo was taken. These four paws changed the trajectory of a life lived in the fast lane of destruction. I owe my life to this little dog; he is the sole reason (together with #btposse #btwelfare I continue to seek an answer/s to the question: who am I? And why I bang on about border terriers!! 🤭 Two years later, in 2020, he was right by my side for a full psychiatric assessment—including a SCID-D diagnostic assessment—where I was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder. We took a 400 mile all round trip to do this. Jack were out of this world mate … your impact was such that I’ve continued to tippy toe along the path you led me onto. #ownertrainedassistancedogs #dogssavelives #livingwithdid #anorexiarecovery #addictionrecovery

#Jackaday from this day 2016 #BTPosse Hey pals I started volunteer cat cuddling down at an our fabulous @RSPCA_NSomerset centre today. Spent most time sitting on the floor next to a very worried kitty, safe presence, humming random tunes quietly and reading to it … am going to love to witness her worries ease 🤞🏻What a privilege. Big shout out to NSomerset branch 🫶🏻
