#Jan26IsInvasionDay #abolishaustraliaday it's a deeply racist, genocidal excuse for a "holiday" that erases settler-colonial violence in hope that "a bit of cricket and bbq" will be the cultural and social band-aid that eventually will wash its hands of the blood which this nation was founded on. It's the farthest thing from "accountability", responsibility, restoration, or justice in any sense of the word. It's invasion day plain and simple, all allusions to the "real issues facing aboriginal communities" like incarceration rates, abuse, and drug abuse as countless other officials love to do during this time to create allusions and strawman to deflect their cry bully platitudes, are made to create distance from the criminogenic, authoritarian beliefs and carceral logic-based society that produced the injustice in the first place. It's a weak moral relativism based on a fragile white epistemology that uses puritanical, punitive, hysteria, it is the go-to hall of mirrors for conservatives for them to create bogeymen and move the goal post for their purity testing for the "perfect victim" of racism.
