#Apache #Lucene 9.6 will have support for memory mapping with #Java20's project Panama (in addition to existing #Java19 support). As with previous version, no command line flags are needed, it will work out of box! Compilation is supported by a cool trick: https://t.co/D828ucMSCC

Hello @elastic, could you please stop requiring this bullshit of arbitrary high value for "vm.max_map_count"? Instead please enable #Java19 preview mode by default to allow effective memory mapping. And stop your support to tell people to overshard for no reason! 🤬 Thanks.
