Digital spin of the day! 💿🍺 #JonButcherAxis #rock #blues @JButcherX Jon Butcher Axis – Along the Axis (1985) is the band’s third studio album and their biggest commercial success. Released on Capitol Records, it peaked at No. 66 on the Billboard 200. The instrumental track “The Ritual” earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, while “Sounds of Your Voice” (written by Thom Gimbel) became the group’s only Hot 100 single, reaching No. 94. Other notable tracks include “Stop,” “Electricity,” the title track, and “Two Hearts Running.” The album features an expanded lineup with keyboardist/saxophonist Thom Gimbel, bassist Jimmy Johnson, and additional players, produced by Spencer Proffer. It blends blues rock, hard rock, and AOR, showcasing Jon Butcher’s guitar work and soulful vocals. The band supported it with extensive U.S. touring, including dates opening for INXS.

Last show of the year and one my favorites, a special night of Americana and acoustic blues, serious picking and singing, chops are required. Come and see if you're around. #jonbutcher @jbutcherAXIS #jonbutcheraxis #Bostonguitar
