Dec Muniko was a good man. He didn't deserve to die 😭
He was 23 years old. Had just come from the village from celebrating New years with his family.
He had just got some capital from his aunt Lydia Muniko in the video below to boost his business. He sold Mitumba (thrift) clothes in Thika.
Police broke into his apartment searching for weed and Dec was beaten to death and thrown off the 5th floor of the building.
What a sad way to lose such a young promising man.
Police Brutality is advanced by rogue police men. These rogue policemen live amongst us. They buy vegetables from the same mama mbogas as us in the hood yet they terrorize us.
Yet they kill us.
Why do we allow it?
Our constitution in Article 21 regards life so precious that it is our right to have it. Even for arrested persons. They have a right to fair trial.
Let us wake up and protect our constitution and the spirit of constitutionalism in Kenya.
That is our birthright.
We must not sell it for anything.
Say No To Police Brutality ‼️
Dec will be buried on Friday 23rd January 2026 at his parents home in Migori.

Last week on Thursday, Dec Muniko was beaten and thrown off the 5th floor by police men in Makongeni Thika.

Today I watched a disturbing report on NTV that left me unsettled, not because it was shocking, but because it points to a growing pattern.
- Jan 1: A young boy was killed by police in Utange.
- Last Sunday: A young businessman, Jobuu, was shot dead by a police officer in Karatina.
- This week: Two young men were shot dead in Kakamega by police/KWS officers.
- Last week: A person was shot dead by a KWS officer in Kwale.
- Yesterday: A young man was shot dead by police during protests in Mukuru Kwa Njenga.
- Last week: Police were filmed beating young men in Nandi for playing pool.
At some point, we have to stop and ask ourselves: are we really looking at isolated incidents, or are we seeing a pattern?
What worries me most is that these victims are mostly ordinary young men. People who are going about their lives. People working to provide for their families, protesting, relaxing, or just existing.
Yes, in many cases, the officers involved are later arrested. But that does not answer the bigger question: why is this happening so often in the first place?
We have not forgotten when senior government leaders from Murkomen to Ruto openly encouraged police to "use their weapons." Are officers now acting under that mindset?
No Kenyan should live with the fear that you can wake up, leave your house, go to work, sit in your home, or attend a protest and never return, not because of criminals, but because of the very people meant to protect you.
That kind of fear slowly destroys trust between citizens and the state. And when trust dies, a country becomes unstable.
Speaking up about this does not mean we hate the police. It means we value human life. It means we want professionalism, restraint, and accountability.
So I believe it’s time we speak, calmly, firmly, and together.
Let’s raise our voices and say: End Police Brutality
Because today it may be someone you don’t know.
Tomorrow, it could be you, your brother, or your child.
