Okay, let me throw out a completely hypothetical scenario. Let’s say CLAYFACE underperforms. Let’s say MAN OF TOMORROW doesn’t deliver the kind of numbers Skydance needs. Now you’ve got a company carrying roughly $80 billion in debt, chasing $6 billion in cost savings, and suddenly needing DC to start generating some serious money. So what do you do? You call Tom Cruise. Think about it. David Ellison and Skydance helped make TOP GUN: MAVERICK, a $1.5 BILLION movie. Joseph Kosinski directed it. Christopher McQuarrie co-wrote and produced it. Cruise obviously starred in it. And McQuarrie already spent years ago kicking around MAN OF STEEL 2 ideas with Henry Cavill. He has openly said they had something they thought was really good. So... Joseph Kosinski directs. Christopher McQuarrie writes. Tom Cruise plays an older Kal-El. KINGDOM COME. Elseworlds. No continuity headaches. No replacing Corenswet. Just an older Superman story with one of the biggest movie stars alive finally doing a superhero film. And look at Cruise now. Tell me that dude couldn’t walk onto a set with the gray temples, the black-and-red “S,” and look like Alex Ross’ Kingdom Come Superman. If Skydance ever gets desperate enough to start thinking outside the box... I’m just saying. David Ellison already has everybody’s phone number.
