La haute cour militaire a condamné à mort le colonel #Mambweni et ses complices pour le meurtre des experts de l'ONU au #Kasai
condamné à 10 ans de prison en 2022 par la cour même cour militaire de la province du #KasaïOccidental pour non-assistance et violation de consignes, suite au meurtre des experts de l'ONU ,#ZaidaCcatalan et #MichaelSharp en 2017. Le parquet militaire avait fait appel de cette décision.
En janvier 2022, 49 des 54 personnes poursuivies dans cette affaire avaient été condamnées à mort, dont 27 présentes et 22 par défaut. Le procès en appel a été relancé en octobre 2022 à la prison militaire de #Ndolo., à #Kinshasa

The @Rotary Healthy Communities Challenge (#RHCC) project is transforming access to healthcare in #Kasai province. With 552 community healthcare sites already operational, more than 1,100 volunteer health workers mobilised, and 253,000 children set to benefit from life-saving care close to home, the initiative is making a tangible difference across rural communities.
David Munkley, East Zone Director for World Vision DR Congo, witnessed this achievement first-hand during a visit to the healthcare site in #Tshibemba village, located in the #Kanzala Health Zone.
These sites are becoming a cornerstone of primary healthcare services in rural areas, strengthening the early diagnosis, treatment, and referral of childhood illnesses. With every new service established, more families gain timely access to healthcare without having to leave their villages.
The commitment of rural communities has been remarkable: they recognise community health workers as trusted sources of healthcare and information. This trust is essential to ensuring that children receive prompt and effective medical attention.
The #RHCC project also stands as a strong example of international collaboration. With technical and financial support from @WorldVision and PATH’s expertise in data management, and contributions from the #RotaryFoundation, the province is reaching a historic milestone in the integrated management of childhood illnesses.
This success reflects the dedication of families, traditional leaders, and village structures. Together, they are becoming the true champions of a sustainable community-based strategy that places children’s health at the heart of Kasai’s development.
