📷 Today, as part of the #KatazaProgram, we launched the Journey of Transformation (JOT) training module for young women entrepreneurs and their partners in the Gatsibo District, Rwimbogo Sector. The event was graced by Uwamahoro Charlotte, the Sector Business Development Officer, whose presence highlighted the importance of collaboration in fostering stronger families and more resilient communities. The Kataza Program is a transformative initiative supporting financially excluded and disadvantaged youth-led businesses in the agriculture and tourism & hospitality sectors across 15 districts in Rwanda. By providing access to affordable financing and real-time business advisory services, the program empowers these businesses to grow and create meaningful employment opportunities. The RWAMREC component focuses on empowering couples to build healthier, more respectful, and resilient relationships, tackling the root causes of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Together, we are walking a path of healing, equality, and transformation in our communities.

Today, at @mhotelkigali, AMIR held a strategic meeting with Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) under the #KatazaProgram to discuss and review the features of the Kataza Rubyiruko financial product.

From March 26-28, #RWAMREC trained 60 financial service providers in a Gender Transformative Approach (GTA) across Kataza operational districts in the Eastern Province.
Through the #KATAZAProgram, we didn’t just discuss gender equality—we worked to shift mindsets, break barriers, and nurture inclusive financial ecosystems.
One participant shared:
“I’ve been to many gender trainings before, but this is the first time I truly understand what gender means. I now fully understand gender, and my misconceptions have turned into knowledge and positive change.”
📢 Closing the GTA Training for Financial Service Providers from 11/15 Kataza operational districts🚀#RWAMREC has successfully implemented a Gender Transformative Approach (GTA) training for 88 financial service providers under the #KATAZAProgram, implemented in partnership with @MastercardFdn, @BRDbank, @AMIR_Rwanda, @RwandaAMI, @mvendgroup, and @imbankrw. Since February 19th, representatives from SACCOs and MFIs have been gaining essential tools to promote #InclusiveFinance and dismantle gender barriers to financial access. A huge thank you to all participants—together, we're creating a more equitable financial ecosystem!💪💰

On February 16th, we reached a major milestone under the #KatazaProgram, celebrating the closing of the #GrowthGuides training at RICEM Training Center! 240 participants from 15 districts completed the #GenderTransformativeApproach training, gaining the skills to drive inclusive economic growth in their communities. As our Executive Director, Fidele Rutayisire, reminded us: "Change starts with you." Breaking financial barriers rooted in harmful gender norms begins with our own actions.
