Day 366: Common Buzzard flying low over a field then up to the top of a tree to land - but not too elegantly! Kestrel this morning hovering over a frosty meadow.

DAY 364: Another dull day but lots of water flowing through the eel dam thingy at Felbrigg NT. I like these sculptures.

DAY 363: The usual Kestrel at Felbrigg NT posed nicely for me for a change in the sleety conditions and a selection of gulls were rather active above the lake. Even had a few Pink-feet - haven't seen them for a few days.

Day 365: Watching several blackbirds feeding on this Cotoneaster bush this morning. This is the only shrub in the garden with berries remaining but suspect these will be gone before the new year.

Day 365: These nest boxes were offered as prizes for a Christmas quiz (Great Tit and Blue Tit). The winners were able to select the type of box they wanted and hopefully they will be occupied in the spring.

Day 364: Several flocks of Lapwing descended on a local field & counting produced a total of over 400 birds. A small flock of Golden Plover also put in an appearance. Surprised to find this Knapweed in flower in the garden.

DAY 362: The Grey Wagtail is becoming a regular on the flooded fields by the Aylmerton stone cross and this Buzzard is often about.

Day 363: Flock of mixed finches feeding on local field flew up into this tree and looked like leaves from a distance. But viewed through binoculars you could see Chaffinches, Yellowhammer and a couple of Brambling.

Day 362: Despite the strong wind and rain last night these fir cones were still hanging on this morning. Grey Wagtail foraging in this waterlogged ex-potato field.

DAY 361: Boxing Day. A wander round Felbrigg NT. Very muddy underfoot, and not just for humans! Think this was probably a Grey Heron from the size of the footprints. Large flock of Siskin with some having a paddle & the 1st Marsh Tit for a while.

DAY 360: Christmas Day. Digging up the root veg for dinner. I know they don't look smart like the ones in the supermarket & it takes ages to cut the dodgy bits out, but we grew them & they taste nice! Our only visitor was this lonesome Pheasant at the window.

DAY 359: Christmas Eve. Some fantastic skies out there today in this strange light. All the birds were hiding as the winds were up. Feral Pigeons and the local Buzzard were the best spots.

DAY 358: Just a tad wet out there still. Lots of Pheasants and Red-legged Partridges lurking at the bottom of hedgerows all around us.

Day 360: Increasing number of Blackbirds in the garden. Counted 10 today 6 in this picture. Fir cone looks different with a coat of gold paint.

Day 359: Lots of finches and tits in the garden this morning including a Nuthatch. The Blackbird behind the feeder is one of 8 that were in the garden today.

Day 359: Cold, windy and lots of heavy showers this morning. Still colour in the trees when you look at them against a dark sky but all the leaves have gone. Fields are very waterlogged and not even the birds were venturing out onto them this morning.

Day 358: Kestrels are a common sight around the local lanes using trees in the hedgerows and power lines where these are not available to scour the undergrowth for prey items.

DAY 356: It is still a bit wet out there but the sun was out and it was lovely to see a sun-lit Bullfinch and the local light-coloured Buzzard.

Day 357: This Holly tree in a hedge on the Weavers Way footpath was providing a food source for a dozen Redwing before they flew into the top of a nearby Oak tree.
