A6: I have used @CanvasLMS in the past, but I have been more intentional about how we provide clarity in the academic expectations outlined in the course (due dates for assignments, grading rubric, feedback, etc.) #KCSTeachandLearnTuesday
A5: Share a meme or emoji in the chat/discussion that represents how you feel today. #KCSTeachandLearnTuesday
A5: I have done a check-in every two weeks with #kcstpack. One is during a meeting and the next is asynchronously. I am able to see how people are doing, plus I ask a question (ex. what are you reading?) and then share responses (no names) with the group. #KCSTeachandLearnTuesday
A4: I’ve seen teachers use discussion boards in a way that promotes ongoing and thoughtful dialogue. Students must respond to a prompt and the next day they must reply to two other posts. #KCSTeachandLearnTuesday
A4: One idea that I love is from Ms. Brintnall @ABESCardinals. She has a WOW Wall in her Canvas Course. She then posts student work. I love this idea. I am eager to think about ways I might do this with adult learners. #KCSTeachandLearnTuesday

A3: I did a session yesterday where I offered people a note-taking document. We paused in between topics and captured our "goal" in that section. I had many people say that they appreciated the notetaker. I am going to begin adding that into sessions now. #KCSTeachandLearnTuesday
.@BryanPaschal shared a great trick yesterday. When in breakout rooms, students can collab in a google doc. That allows teachers to quickly see how each group is progressing and what support is needed. #kcsteachandlearntuesday
@MrsCatShoun I would agree on the new learning with @MicrosoftTeams. It has helped me both for synchronous and asynchronous learning. #KCSTeachandLearnTuesday
A2: Microsoft Teams was the biggest new tool for me this year. During asynchronous sessions, I love that you can drop a link in the chat for students to access other collaboration tools and use them in real time. #kcsteachandlearntuesday
A2: Synchronously I have been able to virtually deliver meetings via Teams (which was new to me this year). I also offer a recording asynchronously for those who may have had to miss the meeting. This way everyone can still access the learning. #KCSTeachandLearnTuesday
A1: I would “high five” all of the KCS educators who have developed new ways to allow learners to learn at times that are convenient for them. We have had so many successes this year, it is hard to pick just one thing to celebrate.

A6 teachers using synchronous class discussions about text helps deepen and promote student understanding of the text #kcsteachandlearntuesday
A7: I want to think about how we support students and families in new ways. Additionally, I am thinking of how we might best capture all of the great learning that our educators are having so we can continue to grow together.

A6: In a PD with the PE, Health, Wellness teachers, one thing they loved was Waterfall Chat. Give prompt, all students type response (BUT DO NOT SEND YET). Then once teacher gives time, then they say “waterfall” and all of the responses roll by quickly.

A5: I have learned this year about the Mood Meter. If feeling good (look right) and if feeling down (look left)...then read in top quadrant if more intense versus less intense. Then have them share with you one or two words that describe their mood.

A4: So many great ideas from KCS educators...like Virtual Lunch. Have you thought about changing the background to a “new” location? One teacher shared they did a virtual lunch with a F2F classroom. This way students can connect socially with each other. #kcsteachandlearntuesday

A4: I am in love with the waterfall protocol where you have everyone wait to answer a question and then all answer it in the TEAMs chat at the same time. It is so fun to watch all the responses come in!
