@PrincipalPaine If I am excited/interested/"passionate" about the books I'm sharing and the process of analyzing reading at a deeper level, students tend to notice the value more readily and attempt the higher level thinking. If I'm not excited, why would they be excited? #kmechat #ncisd #tlap

@PrincipalPaine Q13: My biggest roadblock is #2 (believing you have to figure it all out). There are so many great ideas, Hooks, and techniques that it can be overwhelming. I am going to try one thing at a time and not feel like I have to recreate my teaching overnight. #kmechat

@PrincipalPaine Q8: I love kinesthetic learning! Last week, we introduced weathering and erosion with a relay race outside. I built a stack of legos at one end. Each student had to "weather" a lego, "erode" it by running back, and "deposit" it at a new location, building a new stack! #kmechat

@PrincipalPaine Q7: By adjusting my voice to an enthusiastic tone, I can make such a difference. I try to speak to my students as people and as part of a family. If I am not enthusiastic about teaching, how can I expect my students to be enthusiastic about learning? #kmechat

@PrincipalPaine I tell my students that I can do magic. When we count and add sticks for the days we’ve been in school, I perform a “magic” trick as we regroup and move the 1’s to the 10’s house. They laugh hysterically every time so I’ve kept doing it (next time day 80)

A4: As a P.E. coach I have the unique opportunity to build rapport with every student at KME. I try to enhance that opportunity every day with personal greetings to every student as they enter the gym as well as one on one positive reinforcement and affirmation daily. #kmechat

@PrincipalPaine Q3: Instead of "teaching" my students the things they need to learn in 4th grade, I can immerse myself in learning as a whole class. I can do this by truly being a part of learning and learning alongside them. If they are participating in an activity, I can also engage. #kmechat
