For example, the scribe of MS C318 foliates vixxxvi in Roman numerals on this leaf, instead of the more common cxxxvi, to denote 136 because they're calculating 136 as (6x20)+16! Numbers, the best telltale clue of a French production!🇫🇷

This mid-15th century paper manuscript contains a still unedited 15th-century text (Jacques Legrand's _Le livre de bonnes meurs_), so we're very excited but to me the most exciting part is the contemporary (and very French) foliation!

MS E282 comes from the collection of Virginia Taylor, who acquired the manuscript from her father, Henry Lewis Broomall in around 1900. Listed as her only manuscript in De Ricci's _Census_ under "The Library of Mrs. G. Winship Taylor."

But that's not all! This mid-fifteenth century manuscript (KSRL MS E282) is held together with tackets made up of parts of another manuscript in parchment and that is how its quires are attached to its contemporary binding.

KSRL MS E282 contains a collection of works on the fall of Troy in Latin, including _Historia destructionis Troiae_ by Guido delle Colonne. Contemporary quire and leaf signatures as well as guide rubrics are visible throughout.

One of the manuscripts I've been working on, from the library of Buxheim Charterhouse. What remains in KSRL, MS E35 are the ghosts of the repurposed parchment text guards--offset onto the insides of both boards, with fragments missing.

This attractive red leather binding preserves the diary of Robert Ker Porter (1797-1841), containing remarks about his time in London in 1824 and intricate drawings and maps.
MS K31 was previously owned by Sir Thomas Phillipps.

Corner of a leaf in #KSRL MS C61, which contains a 15th-century copy of the Divine Institutes by Lactantius, was left folded (by mistake) during trimming, which then left its corner uncut, a feature called témoin.
