How money from a Hungarian "pro-government businessman" is secretly flowing to Viktor Orbán's family using a method very similar to money laundering: @G7gazdasag has revealed a scheme were so-called 'preferred shares', front companies and stooges are used to hide the money flow.
Geraldton Ltd, formally owned and controlled by pro-Orbán real estate billionaire Daniel Jellinek, actually pays 99.2008 percent of the dividends to another company, Fagales Ltd, which is owned by an unknown realtor from a small town, Áron Hornung. A system of preferred shares are used for diverting the majority of the Jellinek-owned company's profit to the company of Hornung.
However, Hornung happens to be a high school friend of István Tiborcz, Viktor Orbán's son-in-law. According to @G7gazdasag, a Hungarian economic site, Hornung's company, Fagales Ltd, is then paying most of its dividends to an unknown beneficiary who holds a preferred share in the company.
Although it's not public who that unknown owner is, but, coincidentally, the company of Orbán's son-in-law, BDPST Ltd, receives the same amount of dividends from a similarly unknown company every year. More interestingly, that amount of money received is always exactly the 94.0975 percent of the total dividends that Fagales Ltd is paying.
To sum it up: although it's not publicly available information that Fagales Ltd is paying that money to BDPST Ltd, but the amounts and percentages that one is paying and the other is receiving always match.
The amount of money Orbán's family received this way was €33 million (HUF 12,7 billion) in 2022, and more than €70 million in total.
