JUVENILE SEXUAL ASSAULT ARREST: A 51 year old #Killingly man was arrested this morning by @Ct_State_Police on sexual assault charges in connection with incidents involving two juvenile males. Michael Mancini, according to a 20 page long arrest warrant, offered money and gifts to his victims. Police were first made aware of the alleged crimes when a teenager tried to commit through the use of pills, telling his father and stepmother than someone he knew had sex with him. Mancini was charged with:
- Risk of Injury to a Minor (2 counts)
- Sexual Assault 2nd Degree- Victim Under 18, Actor as Guardian
- Sexual Assault 2nd Degree- Victim Age 13-15, Actor Greater Than 3 Years Older
- Sexual Assault 4th Degree (2 counts)
Mancini was held on $700,000 bond prior to his arraignment at Danielson Superior Court today.
WRONG WAY DUI DRIVING ARREST: A 23 year old Massachusetts woman was arrested early Saturday morning for DUI and driving the wrong way. Johanna Schulz of #Dover, MA was pulled over just before 5am for traveling westbound in the I-695 eastbound lanes near exit 1 in #Killingly. Schulz was given a field sobriety test which she failed and was arrested and charged with:
- Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs
- Driving the Wrong Way on a Divided Highway
Schulz was released from custody on a $500 non-surety bond and will be arraigned next week at Danielson Superior Court.

FATAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: A 39 year old #Danielson man was struck and killed while crossing Route 6 in #Killingly last night. @Ct_State_Police say William Perry was crossing against the light in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Route 6 and Maple Road when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 20 year old Tyler Aubin of #Brooklyn - who told police he did not see Perry in the roadway. Aubin was not injured. CSP are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident - around 8:15pm - to contact them.
ATTEMPTED HOME INVASION ARRESTS: Two men were arrested by @Ct_State_Police troopers late Wednesday night following an attempted home invasion in #Danielson. CSP say they took Nolen Gilbert, 18, of #Windham and Anthony Pierce, 20, of #Killingly into custody shortly after receiving a 911 call from a homeowner who gave a description of the men who tried to enter their house. Both men were caught wearing ski mask and carrying bladed weapons. Police said they detected the "distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage" emanating from both suspects. CSP said, "Pierce explained to investigators on scene that Gilbert got him drunk and convinced him (Pierce) to assist Gilbert in attempting to assault an individual who was likely to be present at the complainant’s residence. Pierce further explained that he and Gilbert were aware that the residence targeted was occupied at the time they attempted to gain access." Troopers determined that the incident met the criteria of a family violence crime. Both men were charged with the following:
- Conspiracy to Commit Home Invasion
- Conspiracy to Commit Assault 1st Degree
- Breach of Peace 2nd Degree
Gilbert and Pierce were held on a $55,000 bond each and are scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court today.
