🚨 Retired Major Digvijay Singh Rawat: A One-Sided Narrative on Manipur from Afar
Retired Major @Diggi00007 #Digvijay_Singh_Rawat, formerly of 21 Para (Special Forces), was awarded the #Kirti_Chakra for an operation in #Manipur where his team eliminated two PLA cadres involved in an ambush on an Assam Rifles CO. After taking voluntary retirement, he followed his Cardiologist wife like a faithful husband and moved to the United States and is currently working in the private sector. His love for his nation is so strong that he left his Army duty to join his wife and settle in America and discard Indian Citizenship.
Since his retirement, he has been active on X (formerly Twitter), consistently posting views that appear biased against the #Meitei community while defending the #KukiZo. His narrative selectively highlights incidents involving Meitei armed groups while downplaying or ignoring violence committed by #Chin_Kuki_Zo militants. Notably, he remained silent when Meitei women and children were killed but has repeatedly highlighted issues that portray the Meitei negatively and wrong.
During his service in Manipur, he had close ties with Kuki militants under the Suspension of Operations (#SOO) agreement, using them as sources for intelligence on valley-based insurgents. His current pattern of posts suggests that his information may be influenced by #Chin_Kuki_Zo individuals or organizations, raising concerns about the credibility and intent behind his social media activity.
Despite serving in Manipur, his relocation to the U.S. means he is now relying on secondary information from social media and news outlets rather than firsthand experience. Military service does not automatically make one an expert on the region’s socio-political complexities, and there are thousands of soldiers who have served in Manipur without engaging in one-sided narratives. His posts show a clear pattern, seemingly aligning with a specific agenda rather than offering a balanced view.
Sitting in the comfort of his U.S. home, he continues to push a singular perspective, which contributes to misinformation and deepens divides. He is continuously pouring fuel to the fire and terms himself as Deshbhakt?
Does his character suit a person who claims to be a deshbhakt—someone who runs away from India to the U.S. and disowns their citizenship?
What a character! Such a shame.
The situation in Manipur requires a nuanced, fact-based approach rather than selective narratives that serve specific interests.

The words they used for their widowed daughter-in-law are sad. Sad because it will ruin the legacy of their own son; it will reduce their son's sacrifice to a joke.
