FYI for anyone using @Metrolinx #Kitchenerline: You're probably not going to see all day service between Kitchener and Union until 2032, because when Metrolinx bought it from CN for 80M in 2014, part of the deal was CN would still have freight rights. BUT the line needs to be electrified for all day service and many of CN's freight trains using the line are diesel (or will be changed to a different electrification system than GO's). Apparently, it took a decade for them to see the problem here, because last week Ford proposed a study for dedicated freight lines #GoExpansion @PrabSarkaria @fordnation Please correct me if I'm wrong. (And yes, I know they can't find a substation site, but) This is insane... What will it take to get the Kitchener line service to provide full service to Kitchener?

Last week, a crane lifted a new column into place that will support the shifted Bloor Street Rail Bridge and move it into position for the new fourth track on the #KitchenerLine. 🏗️ Once complete, the new track will support future service increases of trains every 15 minutes!
