#Kubi 🗞📰📻📺 || The self-appointed “godfathers of journalism,” led by Pieter MyBurgh, are in full-blown lynch mode because a young, brilliant journalist achieved what they couldn’t in decades. Modibe Vladimir Modiba @mmodiba10 is the first journalist in South Africa to uncover judicial rot so profoundly that a judge was arrested/charged. That alone deserves applause, not resentment. But not all in the media are celebrating (see screenshots from veterans) Ask yourself: why is Pieter triggered? Why does a veteran suddenly feel threatened by a win for the entire industry? Is he unsettled because Modibe succeeded where he failed despite having decades to do it, long before Modibe even left nappies? Or is it that the story wasn’t supposed to be broken at all? Pieter is out here discrediting Modibe, challenging why he is being platformed by other media outlets. The bitterness is loud. This is the same script we saw with Mkhwanazi since #July6 — because certain journalists believe they own the exclusive rights to whistleblowing, breakthroughs and scoops. Especially when the one making waves is young, black and not part of their gatekeeping circle, it hurts them. They are used to easy leaks from the Sibiyas of this world, conditioned by the likes of O’Sullivan to distrust black excellence, especially in SAPS and in govt in general, to undermine them, to question their brilliance (and yes race couldn't stay out of this, go die). Now a young black journalist breaks the wall they couldn’t climb, and suddenly it’s warfare. Suddenly we must doubt him. It’s pathetic. It’s envy.
